After recent further success at ADC Winmau Championship North, Vicky Pruim continued her solid recent form by winning the UKDA National Women’s Singles title in Bolton, as she scored a convincing 5-1 win against current WDF World Champion, Deta Hedman in the final.
Representing Cheshire Darts, Pruim lost just two legs in making her way to the quarter finals, defeating the likes Courtney Hine and Marie Fitton along the way, and after seeing of Jennifer Nuttall 4-2 in the last eight, she needed a final leg to advance to the showpiece, as she edged out Eleanor Cairns 4-3 in the last four.
Hedman’s route to glory started with workmanlike wins against Jenna Ball and Rebecca Rose, and she then whitewashed Lauren Hall, who had stunned Trina Gulliver a round earlier.
Further victories over Emma Martin and Lauryn Salter saw Hedman into the semi-finals, and a heavyweight showdown with four-time World Champion Lisa Ashton, and it would be Hedman that would prevail, easing to a 4-1 win, averaging over 85 in the process.
Pruim took a 2-0 lead in the final, and although Hedman pulled a leg back, Pruim wasn’t for catching, and she reeled off three straight legs to capture the first prize.

In the Women’s Champions Cup team event, Armed & Hammered of London took the honours, as they took a tense 3-2 win in the final against Springfield A of Essex, and the Women’s National Pairs went the way of Sally Smith and Kate Hulme, as they thrashed Eve Watson and Sandra Quinn 4-0 in the title match.
