David Evans, Danny Lauby, Rob Collins, Wesley Harms and Ryan Palmer all secured their places in Saturday’s finale on Friday after coming through their respective groups at the Modus Super Series, to join Moreno Blom, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.
Evans, who entered Friday’s play on 10 points from the opening day of Group C, topped the group overall, despite only winning two of his five matches, as he recorded victories against Robert Rickwood and Mal Cuming, with defeats coming against Danny Lauby, Charlie Large and Youri Brouwer, to end on 14 points from a possible 20.
Elsewhere, Danny Lauby will also compete in Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd overall on 10 points, edging out both Robert Rickwood and Youri Brouwer, who missed out on leg difference, whilst Mal Cuming and Charlie Large finished joint bottom on 8 points each.
In Group B, Rob Collins topped the group overall, after winning three of his four matches, as he recorded victories against Ryan Palmer, Lee Cocks and Keelan Kay, with his only defeat coming against Wesley Harms, to end on 12 points from a possible 16.
Elsewhere, Wesley Harms and Ryan Palmer will also compete in Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively overall on 10 points each, with Keelan Kay and Lee Cocks missing out, by finishing 4th and 5th on 4 points each.
The Modus Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Week One with the six players battling it out for just one spot up for grabs at Champions Week, with play commencing from 7:30pm BST. Play will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
