Dom Taylor, Scott Walters, Robert Thornton, Reece Robinson and Chas Barstow all secured their places in Saturday’s finale on Friday after coming through their respective groups at the Modus Super Series, to join Mike Warburton, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.
Taylor, who entered Friday’s play on 8 points from the opening day of Group C, topped the group overall by completing a clean sweep with five wins from five, as he recorded victories against Mark Barilli, Scott Walters, Mal Cuming, John Desreumaux and Andy Jenkins, to end on 18 points from a possible 20.
Elsewhere, Scott Walters will also compete in Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd overall on 12 points, whilst Mal Cuming finished 3rd on 10 points, John Desreumaux and Mark Barilli 4th and 5th on 8 points each, with Andy Jenkins, who came in for the injured Sven Verdonck, finished bottom on 4 points.
In Group B, Robert Thornton topped the group overall, despite only winning two of his four matches on Friday Evening, as he recorded victories against Sam Cankett and Jeremy Fagg, with defeats coming against Reece Robinson and Chas Barstow, to end on 12 points from a possible 16.
Elsewhere, Reece Robinson and Chas Barstow will also compete in Saturday’s finale, after the pair finished 2nd and 3rd respectively overall, with Robinson ending on 12 points and Barstow on 8 points, whilst Jeremy Fagg finished 4th on 6 points and Sam Cankett bottom on 2 points.
The Modus Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Week Two with the six players battling it out for just One spot up for grabs at Champions Week, with play commencing from 7:30pm BST. Play will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
