Martijn Dragt and Scott Baker took early leads in their pursuits of qualifying for this week’s MODUS Super Series Finale, leading Group’s B and C respectively after one day of action.
The Dutchman ended the first day of action in Group B, clinching a perfect sweep against a field which included the likes of ADC Europe qualifier Kevin Blomme and Darts World’s own Colin Osborne.
Dragt’s best performance came in his first game of the group, producing an average off 100.20 to whitewash Ryan Furness in his first game of the week.
It’s a three-way tie in Group C, with Scott Baker leading Willie Borland and Peter Hudson on legs difference after Thursday’s action.
The Rock guaranteed 8pts in his final match, after denying Scott Baker a clean sweep himself in clinching a last leg decider, averaging 93.11 including 2 180s.
37-year-old Baker impressed on Thursday afternoon, including 2 ton plus checkouts in his 4-3 victory over Kevin Painter, with the former World Championship Runner Up missing no darts on the outer ring across the 7 legs played despite defeat.
The action continues Friday as we find out which 5 players will join former BDO World Champion Christian Kist in Saturday’s Finale in the MODUS Super Series.
