Reece Robinson was victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Week One at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Jamie Kelling in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 first prize.
Robinson, who entered the finale having won Group B on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning both of his group phase matches, as he defeated Jonny Barnes and Adrian Gray to progress through to the Semi Finals, where he came up against Shane McGuirk, and from there, Robinson defeated the Irishman, 4-2, to book his place in the final.
In the decider, Robinson came up against Jamie Kelling, who’d defeated Adrian Gray in the last four, and nothing separated the pair throughout the final until Robinson sealed the victory in the seventh and deciding leg to book his place in Champions Week and pick up the £5,000 top prize.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday for the start of Week Two, with the first of three days of Group A commencing and the field including Danny Jansen and Andy Boulton.
Play will commence from 9:30am GMT and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
