Scott Taylor was victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Week Two at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Tom Cromwell in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 top prize.
Taylor, who entered the finale having won Group B on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning just one of his two group phase matches, as he firstly defeated Jamie Hughes, before losing out to Tom Cromwell. However, the Series Six Champion did progress through to the Semi Finals, where he came up against Mike Warburton, and from there, Taylor defeated ‘Warby’ 4-3 to book his place in the final.
In the decider, Taylor came up against Tom Cromwell for the second time on the night, who’d defeated Bradly Roes in the last four, and this time The Former PDC Tour Card Holder got his revenge against his compatriot, as Taylor whitewashed Cromwell 4-0 to seal his place in Champions Week once again as well as collecting the top prize.
The MODUS Super Series returns on Monday for the start of Week Three and the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field including a trio of Former PDC Tour Card Holders in Graham Hall, Brian Raman and Kevin Burness. Play will commence from 9:30am BST and will be streamed live on the MODUS YouTube channel, Pluto TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
