Johnny Haines, Brian Raman, Graham Hall, John O’Shea and Alec Small all secured their places in Saturday’s finale on Friday after coming through their respective groups at the Modus Super Series, to join Kevin Burness, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.
Haines, who entered Friday’s play on 10 points from the opening day of Group C, topped the group overall after completing a clean sweep with five wins from five once again, as he recorded victories against Alex Williams, Simon Wilkinson, Will Beaden, Brian Raman and Pim Van Bijnen, to end on a maximum 20 points from a possible 20 overall.
Elsewhere, Brian Raman also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd overall on 12 points, edging out Alex Williams, who also ended on 12 points, but missed out in 3rd due to leg difference, whilst Will Beaden finished 4th on 10 points, Pim Van Bijnen in 5th on 4 points and Simon Wilkinson bottom on 2 points.
In Group B, Graham Hall topped the group overall, despite only winning two matches from four on Friday Evening, as he recorded victories against Alec Small and Jamie Owens, with his two defeats coming against John O’Shea and Jamie Lewis, to end on 12 points from a possible 16 overall.
Elsewhere, John O’Shea and Alec Small also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after the pair finished 2nd and 3rd respectively overall on 10 points each, with Jamie Lewis and Jamie Owens finishing 4th and 5th on 4 points each.
The MODUS Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Week Three with the six players battling it out for just one spot up for grabs at Champions Week, with play commencing from 7:30pm BST.
