Alec Small was victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Week Eight at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Sam Spivey in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 top prize.
Alec, who entered the finale having won Group C on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning just one of his two group phase matches, as he firstly suffered a defeat against Sam Spivey before whitewashing Dylan Slevin to progress through to the Semi Finals. At that stage, Small came up against Ryan Branley and the Welshman got the better of his teenage opponent, 4-3, to book his place in the final.

In the decider, Small came up against Sam Spivey for the second time on the night, who’d defeated Graham Hall in the last four, and this time Small got his revenge against the Englishman as he secured a 4-3 victory to book his place in Champions Week as well as collecting the £5,000 first prize.
The MODUS Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Week Nine, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field including Series 13 Champion Jack Drayton.
