James Marcroft, Devon Petersen, Lee Evans, Scott Taylor and Ron Meulenkamp all secured their places in Saturday’s finale on Friday after coming through their respective groups at the MODUS Super Series, to join Lewis Pride, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.
Marcroft, who entered Friday’s play on 6 points from the opening day of Group C, topped the group overall after winning three of his five matches, as he recorded victories against Devon Petersen, John O’Shea and Meinte Hibma, with his two defeats coming against Kevin Painter and Adrian Gray, to end on 12 points from a possible 20 overall.
Elsewhere, Devon Petersen also progressed through to Saturday’s Finale, after finishing 2nd overall on 12 points, whilst John O’Shea, Kevin Painter and Meinte Hibma finished 3rd, 4th and 5th on 10 points each, with Adrian Gray finishing bottom on 6 points.
In Group B, Lee Evans topped the group overall after winning three of his four matches on Friday Evening, as he recorded victories against Richie Burnett, Scott Taylor and Ron Meulenkamp, with his only defeat coming against Carl Wilson, to end on 14 points from a possible 16 overall.
Elsewhere, Scott Taylor and Ron Meulenkamp also progressed through to Saturday’s Finale, after the pair finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively overall, with Taylor ending on 10 points and Meulenkamp on 6 points, edging out Carl Wilson, who also ended on 6 points, but missed out in 4th due to leg difference, whilst Richie Burnett finished bottom on 4 points.
The MODUS Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Week 11 with the six players battling it out for just one spot up for grabs at Champions Week, with play commencing from 7:30pm BST.
