Live League: Edgar claims finale spot

Matthew Edgar secured his place in Saturday’s finale on Wednesday, after winning four of his five matches, as Group A came to a close, with the fields being confirmed for Groups B and C.

Edgar, who entered Wednesday’s play on 6 points from the opening day of Group A, won four matches from five as he secured his place in Saturday’s finale, in recording victories over Conor Heneghan, Jarred Cole, Gary Blades and Jelle Klaasen, with his only defeat coming against Toni Alcinas, as he finished on 14 points from a possible 20.

Elsewhere, despite also ending the day on 8 points, Alcinas narrowly missed out on an automatic spot into the finale, as he finished 2^nd overall on 12 points and will compete in Group B, alongside Conor Heneghan, who finished 3^rd overall on 10 points. The duo will be joined in Group B by James Richardson, Paul Hogan and Dan Read.

Despite topping Tuesday’s daily table, Jarred Cole will compete in Group C, after finishing 4^th overall on 10 points, but behind Heneghan on leg difference, with Jelle Klaasen and Gary Blades joining him in Group C, after the pair finished 5^th and 6^th respectively. Joining the trio will be Aaron Beeney, Justin Smith and Kurt Parry.

Online Darts Live League continues on Thursday with Group C commencing from 9:30am GMT and Group B commencing from 10pm GMT. Play will be streamed live on Online Darts TV YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
