Jim McEwan was victorious on Saturday as he crowned the winner of Week 1 at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Scott Walters in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 1st prize.
McEwan, who entered the finale having finished 2nd in Group B on Thursday and Friday, won both of his group phase matches, by defeating Mark Graham and Robert Owen to book his place in the Semi Finals, where he came up against James Hurrell and came out a 4-3 victor to seal his place in the final.
In the decider, McEwan came up against Scott Walters, who defeated Robert Owen in the previous round 4-3, and the Scotsman was victorious, in coming out a 4-2 victor to defeat Walters and sealing his place in Champions Week, as well as the £5,000 weekly 1st prize.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Week 2, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field to be announced in due course. Play will commence from 9:30am GMT and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
