Tony Wood, David Wawrzewski, Lee Budgen, Steve West and Fallon Sherrock all secured their places in Saturday’s finale on Friday after coming through their respective groups at the Modus Super Series, to join Adam Hunt, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.
Wood, who entered Friday’s play on 6 points from the opening day of Group C, won four matches from five to top the group overall, as he recorded victories against Pete Burgoyne, Ciaran Teehan, John Part and Danny Smith, with his only defeat coming against David Wawrzewski, to end on 14 points from a possible 20.
Elsewhere, David Wawrzewski also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd overall on 14 points, finishing behind Wood on leg difference, whilst Ciaran Teehan finished 3rd on 12 points, Pete Burgoyne in 4th on 10 points, Danny Smith in 5th on 6 points and John Part bottom on 4 points.
In Group B, Lee Budgen topped the group overall, after winning three of his four matches, as he recorded victories against Fallon Sherrock, William Borland and Adam Lipscombe, with his only defeat coming against Steve West, to end on 12 points from a possible 16.
Elsewhere, Steve West and Fallon Sherrock also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively overall, with the pair ending on 8 points each, whilst Adam Lipscombe and William Borland ended 4th and 5th on 6 points each.
The Modus Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Week 7 with the six players battling it out for just 1 spot up for grabs at Champions Week, with play commencing from 10:00pm GMT. Play will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
