Matthew Dennant was victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Week 11 at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Scott Taylor in the final.
‘The Scholar‘ secured a place in Champions Week and claimed the weekly £5,000 top prize.
Dennant, who entered Saturday’s finale having won Group B on Thursday and Friday, began the night with back-to-back whitewash victories against David Davies and Scott Taylor to progress through to the Semi Finals.
In the final four he came up against Tom Lonsdale, and from there, Dennant came through a last leg shootout to defeat Lonsdale, 4-3, and book his place in the final.
In the decider, Dennant came up against Scott Taylor for the second time on the night, who’d defeated Reece Robinson in the last four.
The battle between two Former PDC Tour Card Holders, saw Dennant come out on top, as he defeated Taylor 4-3 to clinch the Week 11 crown, claim the £5,000 weekly first prize and seal a place at Champions Week for the very first time.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Week 12, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field including Martin Adams and Fallon Sherrock.
