Reigning WDF World Darts Championship winner Neil Duff opened his Lakeside campaign with a 3-1 victory over Moreno Blom on Day 4. Leonard Gates moves into his maiden Last 16 clash in Surrey after defeating 11th Seed John Scott in the last match of the night on Day 4.
Duffman claimed a 6-5 victory over Thibault Tricole to win at Lakeside on debut back in April last year and continues his 100% record at the home of world darts with an 84.83 average.
The Ballyclare player has continued to play on the WDF circuit as well as the World Seniors and the MODUS Super Series, picking up a weekly success at the Live Lounge and competing in Champions Week.
Neil defeated Moreno Blom including 4 180s at Lakeside to move through and face debutant Martyn Turner, who opened the action on Day 4 with a 3-1 victory over Liam Maendl-Lawrance.
Leonard Gates threw a 92+ average in claiming his first win at a WDF World Championship against Brian Corbett on Sunday (2-0) and picked up from where he left off, as he marches with his run of not dropping a set in the 2023 WDF World Championship.
The Soulger continues to use his big stage experience in Surrey having had highs on the Seniors Circuit, winning at the Ally Pally and a 9 darter at the MODUS Super Series.

Number 1 Seed Andy Baetens threw the highest average of the tournament in whitewashing Sebastian Bialecki on Day 3, scoring 94.82 and finding 13 scores of 140+.
2006 World Champion Jelle Klaasen opened his campaign for a 2nd World Title with a 3-0 victory over Edwin Torbjornsson on Day 4, averaging 93.91 against his Swedish opponent.
In the Ladies World Darts Championship, Beau Greaves after opting to play Lakeside over the Alexandra Palace, started her World Title defence with a 2-0 win over Lorraine Hyde. Rhian O’Sullivan included a 121 finish in defeating Suzanne Smith in the afternoon on Day 4, setting up a Quarter Final with Deta Hedman who beat Aletta Wajer 2-1 in the evening session.
Wednesday sees PDC Pro Tour Finalist Chris Landman open his campaign against Davie Kirwan, before Number 1 Seed Andy Baetens returns to the oche to face 16th Seed Gary Stone in the Last 16 of the 2023 WDF World Darts Championship.
