Teehan Triumphs

Red Dragon Darts

Ciaran Teehan was victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Week Eight at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Gilbert Van der Meijden in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 top prize.

Teehan, who entered the finale having finished 2nd in Group B on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning both of his group phase matches, defeating both Jon Worsley and Harry Gregory in last leg deciders to progress through to the Semi Finals.

In the final four the Irish thrower came up against Harry Ward, and from there, Teehan once again came through another last leg shootout to defeat ‘Big H’ 4-3 and book himself a place in the final.

In the decider, The Cork thrower came up against Gilbert Van der Meijden, who’d defeated teenager Harry Gregory in the last four. Former PDC Tour Card Holder Teehan showed his experience to dispatch the Dutchman 4-1 and seal a place in Champions Week once again, as well as picking up the £5,000 weekly first prize.

The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Week Nine, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field including Kevin Painter, Scott Mitchell and Sebastian Bialecki.

Play will commence from 9:30am BST and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
