Asian Tour’s Presence Growing

Big changes are on the way for the 2025 PDC Asian Tour, with the season now set to feature 28 tournaments – and a new-look conclusion that ramps up the stakes for players across the region. The final four events will now double up as qualifiers for the PDC Asian Championship, replacing the separate ones that had previously been part of the calendar.

Action resumes on July 5-6 in Singapore, where players will contest events 17-20. From there, the tour moves to the Philippines at the beginning of August for the next batch – events 21-24 – before reaching its grand finale in Qingdao, China. The season will wrap up with four days of high tungsten tension from September 11-14, as events 25-28 provide a final chance for players to climb the rankings and secure their place at the Asian Championship.

This revamp means an additional $20,000 in prize money will be up for grabs during the closing stretch, giving competitors even more incentive to finish the season strongly. The final four events replace the traditional PDC Asian Championship Qualifiers, streamlining the route to one of the region’s biggest stages.

The PDC Asian Championship itself is scheduled for September 13-14 in Qingdao. A 48-player field will battle it out, with spots allocated as follows: the top 16 players from the final Asian Tour Order of Merit – all of whom will be seeded for the group stage – alongside national qualifiers from across Asia (or the highest-ranked player from each nation not otherwise qualified).

The remaining places will be filled from the Order of Merit until the 48-player field is complete.

There’s plenty at stake in Qingdao. The Asian Championship winner will earn a place at the 2025 Mr Vegas Grand Slam of Darts, while both finalists will secure spots at the 2025/26 Paddy Power World Darts Championship – giving players across Asia a golden opportunity to showcase their talent on the sport’s biggest stages.

As things stand, the race for those top positions is heating up. 2024 Asian Champion Lourence Ilagan leads the way on this year’s Order of Merit, with Hong Kong’s Man Lok Leung and Singapore’s legendary Paul Lim close behind. With so much still to play for, the expanded tour promises plenty of drama as players vie for ranking points, prize money and those all-important qualifying places.

Further details on venues and match formats will be confirmed as the dates draw closer – but one thing is certain: the final stages of the 2025 PDC Asian Tour are shaping up to be a thrilling conclusion to the season.
