Belgians Lead at MODUS Super Series International Pairs Darts

Belgium’s darts stars Andy Baetens and Brian Raman took the early lead on Monday, in ending Day One of Group A, top, after winning three of their five matches, with the third edition of International Pairs Week commencing at the Modus Super Series. 

Former WDF World Champion, Baetens, was making his International Pairs debut alongside his compatriot, Raman, with the pair winning three matches from five on the opening day of Group A.

The Belgian pairing recorded victories over Conor Heneghan & John O’Shea (Ireland), Scott Campbell & Jim McEwan (Scotland) and Richie Burnett & Kurt Parry (Wales), with their two defeats coming against David Munyua & Peter Wachiuri (Kenya) and Neil Duff & Richard McKee (Northern Ireland), to sit on 6 points from a possible 10 thus far.

Elsewhere, two pairs in Campbell & McEwan and Duff & McKee also ended the day on 6 points each, but sit 2nd and 3rd respectively behind Team Belgium on leg difference, whilst the remaining three pairs in Team Wales, Team Northern Ireland & Team Kenya sit 4th, 5th and 6th on 4 points each.  

The MODUS Super Series continues on Tuesday with the six pairings returning, hoping to boost their chances of securing a place in Saturday’s Finale, with Team Belgium leading the way thus far.

Play will begin at 9:30am BST and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Pluto TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.

MODUS DARTS INTERNATIONAL PAIRS TOURNAMENT FORMAT

  • International Pairs is the only dedicated pairs tournament on the MODUS Super Series calendar. It follows the format of a regular MODUS Super Series week, with all 104 matches played in pairs format. 
  • Teams from twelve nations will compete across the week, with six advancing to the final on Saturday, 25 April. Only one pair can lift the trophy and claim victory for their nation. 
  • The field features established players, from BDO and WDF World Champions to former PDC Tour Card holders and trailblazer Fallon Sherrock, the first female to win a PDC World Championship match and the first woman to hit a televised 9-darter. 

  

COMPETING NATIONS AND PLAYERS

  • Team Ireland (Reigning Champions): John O’Shea, former World Master, and Conor Heneghan, the first player to hit two 9-darters at the Live Lounge, will defend their International Pairs 2 title. 
  • Team England: Fallon Sherrock, first female PDC World Championship match winner and first woman to achieve a televised 9-darter, and Steve Beaton, 1996 BDO World Champion, compete together for the first time 
  • Team Wales (Two-Time Runners-Up): Richie Burnett and Kurt Parry return to International Pairs. Parry reached the ADC Championship Tour final in 2025; Burnett is a former BDO World Champion. 
  • Team Belgium: Brian Raman, former BDO #1 ranked player, and Andy Baetens, 2023 WDF World Champion, both former PDC Tour Card holders via Q-School. 
  • Team Kenya: Peter Wachiuri, MODUS Super Series weekly finalist and fan favourite, and David Munyua, 2026 PDC World Championship qualifier, represent Kenya as a pair for the first time.  
  • Team Netherlands: Twin brothers Wesley and Danny van Trijp compete for their nation. Danny van Trijp holds the unique achievement of being the first – and to date only – player to hit a 9-darter on a Saturday night at the Live Lounge, and is a former MODUS Super Series weekly winner. 

 Additional nations competing include Scotland, Croatia (new to International Pairs), Northern Ireland, Germany, Canada, and USA, each bringing their own exceptional talents to the oche.
