Darren Beveridge was victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Week One at the Modus Super Series, after defeating James Buckby in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 first prize.
Darren, who entered the finale having won Group A earlier in the week, began the night by winning one of his two group phase matches, as he firstly defeated Kevin Cottiss, before suffering a defeat to James Buckby.
However, the Scotsman did progress through to the Semi Finals, where he came up against Matt Clark and from there, Beveridge defeated ‘Superman’ 4-2 to book his place in the final.
In the decider, Beveridge came up against James Buckby for the second time on the night, who’d defeated Richie Parkin in the last four.
This time ‘Ice Cold’ got his revenge against his English opponent, as Beveridge whitewashed Buckby, 4-0, to become the first player through to Champions Week of Series 15 as well as collecting the top prize.
The MODUS Super Series returns on Monday for the start of Week Two, with the first of three days of Group A commencing and the field including Series 14 Champion Jack Drayton.
Play will commence from 9:30am BST and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Pluto TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
