Darts World are delighted to welcome back their resident betting expert, Glenn Woodage. If you like a flutter on the arrow, this feature may stoke your interest.

With the World Championship upon us, Glenn took a look at the draw and offered some tasty tungsten tips:

The Main Event

“Overall, I fancy Peter Wright to win it. With his run to the final of the Grand Slam of Darts and victorious in the recent Players Championship Final, it looks like he is hitting top gear at just the right time.

“Snakebite won this two years ago so defending a huge chunk this time around. But he is playing brilliantly at the moment and seems confident and bullish.”

ODDS: 13/2

No Quarter Given

“Looking at the draw, I do think Dimitri Van den Bergh has an excellent chance of coming through his section.

“The Belgian is in the second quarter and that quite isn’t as loaded as the others. If Dimitri can play to the ability we all know he can on the big stage, then it looks very appealing value.”

ODDS: 11/4

Treble Tip

“For my final tip, I picked out a nice little first-round treble. Three winners to each progress from their opening round matches…

“Fallon Sherrock to beat Steve Beaton. In her last outing at the Grand Slam, the Queen of the Palace was magnificent against Peter Wright and stuck with him almost all of the way. Plus, she will undoubtedly have the full support of the crowd.

“I also like the look of Ryan Meikle to win against Fabian Schmutzler as well as Chas Bairstow to come out on top in his match with the Canadian John Norman Jnr.”

ODDS: 5/2
