John O’Shea, Steve Hine, Scott Taylor, David Evans and Ross Montgomery all secured their places in Saturday’s MSS finale.
The quintet came through their respective groups at the Modus Super Series on Friday , to join Sebastian Bialecki, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.
O’Shea, who entered Friday’s play on 8 points from the opening day of Group C, topped the group overall, after winning three of his five matches, as he recorded victories against Neil Meneer, Bradley Brooks and Ole Holtkamp, with his two defeats coming against Jimmy Van Schie and Steve Hine, to end on 14 points from a possible 20.
Hine, known as The Muffin Man, also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd overall on 12 points, whilst Jimmy Van Schie and Bradley Brooks finished 3rd and 4th respectively on 10 points each, Ole Holtkamp in 5th on 8 points and Neil Meneer bottom on 6 points.
In Group B, Scott Taylor topped the group overall, after winning three of his four matches, as he recorded victories against Lee Cocks, Ted Evetts and Ross Montgomery, with his only defeat coming against David Evans, to end on 14 points from a possible 16.
Elsewhere, David Evans and Ross Montgomery also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after the pair finished 2nd and 3rd respectively overall, with Evans ending on 12 points and Montgomery on 6 points, edging out Ted Evetts, who finished in 4th due to leg difference, whilst Lee Cocks finished bottom on 2 points.
The Modus Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Week 12 with the six players battling it out for just one spot up for grabs at Champions Week, with play commencing from 7:30pm GMT.
